Molly's Shopping Secrets

My Shopping Secrets

Don't ever be afraid to ask for a discount!
*Remember your AAA card!  So many business' offer a discount when you present them with your AAA Membership card!
*Look at clearance racks!  Sometimes they are bargains just calling your name!  Clearance doesn't always mean it's damaged/returned/etc!  Sometimes an item may be missing a button (check inside garments many manufactures sew extra buttons inside should you lose one!)
* Ask if they have any coupons at the register!
* Buy sales models!  This will save you usually 10% to 25% off the item!
* Black Friday shopping...If you can deal with the crowds then enough said
* Day after Christmas shopping is bigger than most people realize!  Buy all your Christmas/Holiday Cards, wrapping paper, decorations, gifts for Co Workers, etc!  Most items are slashed in price 50% to 75% Off!  Store them with your Christmas/Holiday items!
*Never be afraid to ask for Samples!
*Prom Gowns? Formal wear?  Ask the Sales Associates to see last seasons displays!  I bought a $900 wedding gown for $50 and they are New!
*Furniture Shopping - Ask to see their Scratch and Dent Room!  Most of the time these have little to no damage that is visible they just can sell the items for the same big ticket prices!
*Buying a big quantity?  Don't be afraid to ask for a discount!
*Cable Vs Satellite Tv?  Do your homework!  While cable isn't always cheaper, most satellite companies make you agree to a term contract!  Call and ask what specials/packages they offer.  If it doesn't sound right to you tell them you're going to call xxxx Cable company and see what they offer because you believe it's a better deal.  A better deal might spring up all of the sudden!
Remember it's your money ALWAYS get the most out of it.  We work to hard for our money!

Have you heard of Free Cycle?  FreeCycle.org

The Freecycle Network™ is made up of many individual groups across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer (them's good people). Membership is free. To sign up, find your community by clicking on the region on the left. You may then go directly to your local group by clicking on "Go To" or you may immediately joining by clicking on "Join." It will generate an automatic e-mail which, when sent, will sign you up for the local group and send you a response with instructions on how it works. Can't find a group near you? You might want to consider starting one (click on "Start a Group" for instructions). Have fun!
